Fifth-grader laps it up in New York

Hannah Katz of Longmeadow traveled to Buffalo, NY on March 28 to participate in the Eastern Zone All Star Meet. The three-day meet featured swimmers from Maine to Virginia who finished first or second in each event at their states' respective Age Group Swimming Championships.

Hannah recently swam in the Connecticut Age Group Swimming Championships held at Wesleyan University from March 8-11. Hannah competed in the Girls 10/under category and swam in six events over four days. Hannah was state champion in both the 200 yard Individual Medley with a time of 2:34.99 and the 100 Yard Individual Medley with a time of 1:12.61. Hannah finished second in the 100 Yard Butterfly (1:10.89) and the 50 Yard Freestyle (28.66).

Hannah is a fifth grade student at Wolf Swamp Road School in Longmeadow. Hannah swims on the Aquabears Swim Team, a USA swim team based in Suffield, Connecticut.
