Part 1 of 2, submitted by Dr. Ed Costa

Summer is here! Parents often ask what kinds of activities will keep the academic learning going over the summer and help ready their child for the next school year. There are many activities that enhance academic skills in all children of all ages. In addition to the many outdoor activities available to students over the summer, many academic skills can be used too. Below is a short list of items that keep young students actively engaged over the summer - especially on rainy days. Summer vacation time is important family time. Additionally, you can keep learning as a daily event.
