Regarding : "After flooding, Mass Audobon [sic] makes plans to reopen Laughing Brook" published in the Reminder of August 14 20.
The Hampden Conservation Commission would like to comment on the statement contained in that article:
" ... however, the commission will not permit Mass Audubon to reopen the entryway (to Laughing Brook) as part of the emergency repair, according to Shanley-Koeber."
This is apparently a misunderstanding. The commission placed no such restriction on Mass Audubon's plan to repair the damage Laughing Brook incurred as a result of the flood of October '05.
The Hampden conservation commission would like the residents of Hampden, as well as Mass Audubon, to be aware that we will do all that we can to expedite repairs to property damage caused by the October flood. Anyone with questions regarding these repairs should contact the commission for advice or consultation.
