Amelia Park Children's Museum recognizes the 12 "Amelias" WESTFIELD - Twelve citizens in eight categories were honored at the Amelia Park Children's Museum (APCM). The "Amelias" recognized those individuals whose past donations of time and money have contributed to the establishment of the Museum. Additionally, the event served to introduce and educate other potential supporters about the mission and progress of the Museum. Invited guests gathered at 6:00 p.m. on March 24 at the new Amelia Park Children's Museum located at South Broad St. The 2007 Amelia recipients were selected by the APCM board of directors and were notified by hand delivered invitations and include the following individuals: - Founder's Award - Mary Jane McMahon, Gina Broderick and Eileen Sullivan - Horizon Award for vision and direction in exhibits and programming - Chad Pelletier - The Artisan Award for excellence in creativity - John and Sharon Davies - Pioneer Award for individual(s) who have paved the way for APCM advancement - Bob and Andrea Bacon - President's Award for outstanding service by a board member - Lynanne Nyarady - Volunteer of the Year - Holly Lurgio - Galaxy Award for distinguished commitment to children - Lupita and Mark Holley - Benefactor Award - Albert Ferst The Amelias are named after the late Amelia Ferst, wife of donor Albert Ferst, for whom the Museum is also named. "Like Amelia Ferst, this year's remarkable group of honorees are committed to providing opportunities for success for all children," Doug Deleo, president of the APCM Board of Directors said. "They have gone above and beyond in their efforts to support the development and progress of the Museum and we hope they are as excited as we are to be a part of this event."
