Fitness for Seniors

SPRINGFIELD The Department of elder affairs have a health and fitness program that may be the best kept secret in Springfeild.

Fitness facility equipment membership is free. Cost for use of equipment $1 per day of $10 per month. For just $16 per month join, use all the equipment and a take every class. You just can't beat it!

Group Classes are held on ( just $3 per month):

Mondays: Balance Class 9:30 a.m. -10:15 a.m., Dumb-bell Class 10:20 a.m. 10:50 a.m., Functional Class 11 a.m.-11:30 a.m.

Tuesdays: Chair Exercise Class 10:30 a.m. - 11:00 a.m., Stretching 11 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.

Wednesdays: Balance Class 9:30 a.m.-10:15 a.m., Dumb-bell Class 10:20 a.m. - 10:50 a.m., Functional Class 11 a.m.-11:30 a.m.

Thursdays: Functional Class 10 a.m.-10:30 a.m., Chair Exercise Class 10:30 a.m. - 11 a.m., Stretching 11 a.m.-11:30 a.m. Fridays: Functional Class 11 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.

At the Mason Square at Emerson Hall 439 Union Street, 733-3917. Light Aerobics Chair Class, Free weights (bands), Wed. 1 p.m. 2 p.m.

At the Pine Point Senior Center 335 Berkshire Avenue, 732-1072 Light Aerobics Chair Class, Free weights (bands) on Tues. 9 a.m. 10 a.m. Riverview 122 Clyde Street, 787-5220. Light Aerobics/Dumb-bells/Salsa, Mon. 12 p.m. - 1 p.m. And look for activities and events at our "Virtual Senior Center" in the Sixteen Acres area of Springfield 750-2873.
