Area business updates and opportunities

MEYERS BROTHERS KALIKCKA

Meyers Brothers Kalicka of Holyoke and Greenfield is pleased to announce that John Maybar of Northampton has joined the firm as a Human Resource Recruiter/Trainer in the Holyoke office. Also, Bonnie M. Wade of Webster has joined the firm as Senior Associate in the Holyoke office; Sally M. Imhoff, CPA, of Whately has joined as Senior Associate in the Holyoke office; Abigail Kingman of Easthampton has joined as an Associate in the Holyoke office, and Charlene M. Bellows, CPA of Rutland as a Quality Control Manager-Assurance in the Holyoke Office.



INTERPRETING CERTIFICATE PROGRAM

The need for medical and community interpreters is rapidly increasing, and so is the demand for trained professionals in the field. The Center for Business and Technology at STCC will offer a 9-week certificate program designed to prepare individuals for an entry-level career as a medical and community interpreter. This program will be offered in collaboration with Global Link Translations & Interpreting Services, a provider of language interpreting and translation services, located in the Springfield Business Incubator at STCC Technology Park. Interested individuals should call 755-4225.



TRAINING FOR REAL ESTATE CAREERS

Springfield Technical Community College is a state-approved real estate school and The Center for Business and Technology at STCC will offer "Preparation for the Real Estate Exam," a state-approved course for those interested in becoming licensed real estate salespersons, beginning on Feb. 20. Space is limited in all programs and interested individuals should contact the Center for Business and Technology at 755-4501.



OSHA 10-HOUR CONSTRUCTION COURSE

The Center for Business and Technology at Springfield Technical Community College has announced that they will offer the "OSHA 10-Hour Construction Course" during the upcoming term in cooperation with the Gould Construction Institute. All participants will receive a copy of the OSHA Standard CFR Part 1926 handbook and a certificate and OSHA card will be given to each participant successfully completing the program.
